Kurt Rietsch

Accountant

Kurt Rietsch graduated from Walsh College with a Bachelors of Accountancy degree in 2004. After 10 years working for a small tax and accounting firm in Clinton Township, he ventured out and opened Rietsch Tax & Accounting two miles down the road in September 2010. In February 2012, he merged with Souriall & Associates, a 20-year-old accounting firm located in Waterford. Together. . . Rietsch, Souriall & Associates was born! His firm has since grown in both clients and staff, and in September 2023, he recently became the proud owner of a commercial building in Clinton Township where his new office is located.


As an active member of the Michigan Tax and Accounting Professionals (MTAP), he is continually provided with tax & accounting changes through its emailed newsletters and continuing education. Kurt specializes in individual & small business tax returns, bookkeeping, payroll and QuickBooks services.


Aside from crunching numbers, Kurt enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa, their three children and his farm animals. His son has a knack for working on cars and both daughters bowl for their high school's bowling team. Kurt is involved in the Knights of Columbus, and is also member of St. John Vianney Church where he volunteers throughout the year on various committees. 

Lauren Carr

Payroll Administrator

Lauren joined our team in 2010, helping with the front desk and payroll. In 2011, Kurt and Lauren partnered in Payroll Connect, LLC, a separate entity that focuses on full service payroll. Aside from payroll, Lauren also assists in bookkeeping and basic individual returns. She is studying to become an Enrolled Agent with the IRS.


Outside of the office, you can find Lauren enjoying a competitive game of Monopoly with her husband and two kids. She enjoys exercising and trying any new potential hobby.

Lauren Carr

Maria Behnke

Accountant

Maria joined Rietsch, Souriall & Associates full-time in October 2022. As a Walsh College graduate, she has over 25 years in the tax & accounting field and over 21 years of experience preparing returns with a focus on individual income tax returns. Working exclusively out of the Clinton Township office, she is available all year to help answer tax questions.


During the spring, summer & fall, you can find her amongst the many fruits and vegetables growing in her garden. Outside of gardening, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, son and stepson.

 


Emily Haley

Office Manager

Emily joined Rietsch, Souriall & Associates in 2013 after spending many years utilizing her human resource experience in the staffing industry as a recruiter. Alternating between the Clinton Township and Waterford offices, she is available to assist you with QuickBooks, payroll, bank reconciliations, write-up and tax preparation.


Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, Kevin, their daughter and yellow lab, Ruby. You can find them together camping, gardening and traveling.

Kyle Yarber

Accountant

Kyle graduated from Wayne State University in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. He joined Rietsch, Souriall & Associates in March 2023 and assists with bookkeeping, payroll and administrative tasks.


In his free time Kyle loves watching football, enjoys traveling, going to movie theaters and spending time with his girlfriend, their cat, Bucky and their dog, Bree. 

 


Kelly Meredith

Accountant

Kelly Meredith began working with Rietsch, Souriall & Associates in November 2023. She has 34 years of extensive accounting experience and currently focuses on business tax returns, bookkeeping, QuickBooks and payroll. She lives with her husband, son and two Labradors. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, especially camping with her family.

 


Megan Turner

Payroll Specialist 

Megan graduated from Franklin University with a Bachelors in Business Administration. After living abroad for several years, she and her husband have settled down in Michigan. Outside of work, they are busy with various home improvements. For fun, she feeds feral cats and enjoys creative hobbies such as drawing and crocheting.


Sofia Gammons

Administrative Assistant 

Sofia began working for Rietsch, Souriall & Associates’ Waterford office in September 2023. She is currently a student at Oakland Community College and is working on obtaining her associates degree in accounting. Fluent in Spanish, Sofia enjoys reading, cross-stitching, traveling, playing hockey and water skiing. She also has a parakeet named Christmas and a West Highland Terrier named Ruthie. 


Libi Sims

Administrative Assistant 

Libi joined Rietsch, Souriall & Associates in December 2023 as the administrative assistant at the Clinton Township office. In her free time, she finds comfort learning/playing the guitar, playing pool and gardening. She has a 13-year-old son whom she adores, and enjoys watching him play football and basketball.
